MCP is a Web Based Career and Education Planning System designed to provide students with personalized career and education exploration and planning. MCP is easy to use and offers valid and reliable research-based career planning designed for students:
Self Assessment: Students begin by assessing their interests, values, skills and personality through a series of reliable and valid self assessment instruments.
Career Exploration: Students research occupations that match their self assessments. The database includes detailed information on 1100+ different careers. As the student explores different career options, they have the ability to save careers and record their own comments. Additional tools are provided to summarize results and help students narrow down their options.
College Search: Students can research 2 and 4 year colleges/universities, technical schools, and other job oriented training programs. The database currently includes detailed information on 7,200 post-secondary institutions. Search options include location, type of school, tuition, enrollment, major areas of study, athletics, & extracurricular activities.
Online Portfolio: MCP includes a dynamic electronic-portfolio builder that not only reports back information about the student?s assessments, careers and education possibilities, but also captures information about career objectives, educational plans, and personal achievements, information that is considered crucial in the career exploration and education planning process.
Job Search: For students who are not college bound Resume and Cover Letter writing tips will prepare the student on how to approach the job market. Students can then use links to local and national job banks, newspaper classified ads, and industry specific job openings.
